Dr. Phil’s VR program added to Delray Beach boot camp

Recovery Boot Camp, the Delray Beach alcohol and drug treatment facility, has added a virtual reality program to treat addiction developed by television talk show host and psychologist Dr. Phil McGraw.

“We could not be prouder to include the exclusive team of addiction treatment providers at Dr. Phil’s Path to a Recovery program,” said Tim Schnellenberger, CEO of Recovery Boot Camp, which provides treatment and teaches addicts how to get sober by using Alcoholics Anonymous programs and Healing Properties For Men, a sober living community for addicts in recovery.

Created by Dr. Phil McGraw and his son, Jay McGraw, Path to Recovery it is a virtual reality (VR) program in which individuals at drug and alcohol rehabilitation facilities can feel as though they’re face to face with Dr. Phil, who has more than 45 years of experience working in the mental health profession and addiction recovery, he added.

“We are using it as part of a patient treatment plan, depending on what comes up in specific issues,” Schnellenberger said.
